Grey zone is the celebration of indefinite space, suspended time, uncertain horizon.
In this work, I use some fragments of darkroom photographic prints made from landscape images and I combine them with painted aluminum plates. Neutral grey is the starting point from which I develop different layers and shades of color. In this process, the details, the margins, the discards of every print are important rather than the image in its entirety.
The different materials (analog photography, painting, metal) interact thus creating the body of the image.
A thin, resistant, curved structure, not white nor black, a photograph extended in time and space.
